How Consignment Works at AMT

AMT’s Technology Consignment Program helps individuals and businesses recover value from quality used computers, electronics, and IT equipment. We handle testing, listing, marketing, and the sale so you don’t have to.

How the Process Works

  1. Review your options Use the calculator to explore different fee rates and price reduction methods.
  2. Submit your equipment Complete the consignment request form with descriptions, photos, and your desired starting asking price (minimum $75).
  3. Approval & Setup Fee If approved, you pay a non-refundable setup fee at drop-off (5%, 10%, or 15% of the starting asking price depending on the rate you choose).
  4. Commission AMT’s commission is taken only on the final selling price (22%, 13%, or 5% depending on your selected rate). Sales tax is collected and remitted separately.
  5. Listing & Sale Approved items are tested, cleaned, listed, and marketed through our store and other channels.
  6. Payout Once the item sells, you receive your share of the final sale price based on the agreed terms.

Price Reduction Options

  • Fixed – No automatic changes
  • Moderate – 5% reduction every 14 days
  • Aggressive – 10% reduction every 14 days

Consignment Period & Pickup

  • Minimum period: 30 days
  • Standard period: 60 days

If you selected Moderate or Aggressive: Price reductions continue after 60 days according to your chosen schedule.

If you selected Fixed: After 60 days you must either pick up the item, switch to Moderate or Aggressive reductions, or pay a new setup fee to keep the same fixed price for another period.

Abandonment Policy If we receive no response and the item is not picked up within 45 days after the 60-day period (105 days total), the item will be considered abandoned and AMT may dispose of it with no further obligation to you.
